March 2024 MBA Placement Results

Let’s lead off with those who accepted full time and internship offers in March – Congrats!

March Placement:

Both classes are struggling. A difficult, uncertain economy is the major driver. Firms are 2nd guessing their recruiting plans and hitting the “pause” button. We need to scale our efforts to overcome these headwinds.

International Hiring:

Full Time is doing well – ahead of last year by 20% points. Internship continues to lag a bit, but we’ll get there.

Switching to FT Job Offers:

FT Job Offers this year continue to lag prior years. Uncertainty with companies and the economy have caused the firms to pause and try to understand the markets.

Internship Job Offers:

Internship offers are also lagging in key benchmarks. The hedge against this is increased diligence overall, with a focus on networking.

Intern to FT Conversion for 2nd Yr. MBAs:

Through March, we are standing at 28% of all internships from last summer have converted to full time roles. This is an important metric…historically, this usually sits at 35-40%, which means 60%+ of 1st years land full time offers outside of their internships – plenty of opportunities to land FT roles if you did not receive a FT offer from your internship!

SUMMARY:

A tough environment, companies balking at offers, is proving to be the norm. As said above, the way out of this is increased diligence in the recruiting process. It works, even in tough times. Please come and pay me, Perry, or Shawna a visit and we can assist in your recruiting efforts.
